 About Us

Melanie Harsch

Melanie has always had a passion for helping and supporting children and parents. Her experiences as a co-founder and leader of an adoptive family organization, a  volunteer in a parent group for families for highly gifted children, an expat in China, and an international school counselor for children and teens struggling with emotional and learning difficulties, led her to be the therapist she is today. From these roles, she has come to understand how unique each family and individual situation is and approaches therapy from a culturally considerate and strength-based perspective.

Melanie’s areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD, adoption, expat (internationally based individuals), and TCK (Third Culture Kid), and TCA (Third Culture Adult) issues,  and the needs of gifted/2e children.  She provides support to parents whose children struggle with learning differences and/or mental health diagnosis, and  partners with school counselors and teachers to help children find academic success via individualized learning plans. She uses a variety of therapy approaches to fit the needs of the client and  feels it’s important to help her clients recognize their strengths and set their own goals.

Melanie grew up in a transracial adoptive family, and she is married to Glenn Harsch. She and Glenn have two college aged daughters, one fat gray cat, and an Aussie Labradoodle therapy dog. After living in the USA and China, Melanie now divides her time between Canada and the US.

Glenn Harsch

Glenn Harsch enjoys working with middle schoolers, teenagers, young adults, and adults.
